Maplewood Lane is an Assisted Living/ Respite Care facility that opened in 1995 and is licensed by the State of Alabama as an Assisted Living Facility.
Our highly trained, experienced, and caring staff truly enjoys caring for the elderly and adults with special needs. Residents will be encouraged to live an active life through the many social activities we offer. We provide a homelike atmosphere but professional care based on years of experience.
What this means is that by entrusting your care, or the care of your loved one to us, you will be receiving personalized care in a smaller community (16 units) with a level of professional expertise typically found only in large facilities. We like to think we provide the best of both worlds. We never forget that caring for the elderly and their families is a very personal experience for all of us!
We recognize that frequently elderly individuals need a few weeks or even a few months of assistance as they recuperate from illnesses or accidents. There may also be a need for some individuals to give their families a break from daily care if they are living with their families. Finally, there may simply be a desire to “try us out” without feeling that there is any long-term commitment. Because of these unique requests, we also offer temporary or short-term residency options known as Respite Care (based on room availability).
Maplewood Lane is located in historic Helena, Alabama, less than 5 miles from I-65, Shelby Medical Center, I-459, Riverchase Galleria and the communities of Alabaster, Pelham, Hoover and Riverchase.
We are strategically placed adjacent to a quiet public park with a walking trail and community lake for fishing. Across the street are the Helena Public Library, Senior Citizens Center, Emergency Medical Services and the Historic Town Hall. The cozy nostalgia of this community will help you or your loved one to feel the comfort of a historic past, as well as, the security of state of the art care and companionship.

Care Options include:
- Assistance with dressing, bathing, grooming and other activities of daily living (ADL’s) 24 hours per day, 365 days per year
- Management of delivery of medications through the use of unit dose system
- Registered Nurse on-call
- Respite Care
- Activity programs including worship services, exercise, movies, crafts, and outside entertainers
- Three nutritious home cooked meals and snacks daily
- Special diets available

- Laundry and housekeeping service
- Sunroom and private sitting room
